This years race sees 18 runners line up at the 5f start at 2.30pm and with the race having favoured low drawn runners over the last 4 years the omens look good for the likes of Heeraat, Sole Power and Doc Hay to all be in the mix.
The field has 3 potential front runners in the very fast Swan Song drawn 1, Bungleinthejungle drawn 2 and potentially smart Heeraat drawn 7 and that bolsters the chances of those drawn low as all the pace should be with them.
Sole Power loves to come off a fast pace on quick ground and he gets both of those tomorrow and this consistently good performer looks sure to go close having already performed with credit at Meydan earlier in the year. His trainer Edward Lynam said: "He's very fresh and well at the moment so we felt we wanted to get a run into him now. There are plenty of runners and there should be plenty of pace, hopefully. All going well, this will be a stepping stone to the Temple Stakes at Haydock later in the month and then hopefully Royal Ascot after that." - 1st 7/2
Heeraat recorded a decent time figure in what appeared to be effortless fashion at Newbury last time out and having only had 12 races to date looks open to further improvement with Paul Hanagan keeping the ride.
Angus Gold, racing manager for owner Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: "He's an improving horse going the right way and he has a great attitude. He's a smart sprint handicapper at the moment and we want to find out whether he can jump up a grade and be a possible contender for the King's Stand at Royal Ascot. I know William is a little bit concerned about the undulations of Newmarket, but as far as the ground goes I don't think that will worry him. He has a nice action and I'm sure he'll handle good ground without too many problems." - 4th
Doc Hay has his second run of the season after finishing 4th in the Woodlands Stakes at Naas and he should run well for his up and coming trainer David O'Meara and only the going may be the unknown factor for him as he has not won on Good to Firm. - 0
Pearl Secret won his first 4 races last season and looked a smart type for David Barron who has done so well with his sprinters over the years and Jamie Spencer will be looking to produce him late but like Doc Hay he will be stepping into the unknown on Good to Firm going. David Barron said "Its a step up from the race he was winning, he's done plenty of work, he's in good form and he looks well. Ground wise we know he goes on soft, you can't gaurentee he'll go on fast ground". - NR

History : The event is named after Palace House, a famous building in Newmarket on the site of a royal residence of King Charles II. The race was established in 1961, and the first running was won by Galivanter.
